Why Caroline Does?
As an artist, it was hard for me to choose a direction to take my creativity without limiting myself and while still having fun and enjoying what I do. Around the end of 2020, I decided to buy a pack of polymer molding clay, and the rest is history. I created incense burners, mouth trays, earrings charms, and clay beads to make bracelets and necklaces. Once I realized how much I liked creating jewelry, I moved towards clay jewelry and started purchasing beads and natural stones.
I began to use the natural stones to make rosaries and earrings, while using my previous practice to continue improving upon the new skills I was learning. All of the jewelry knowledge I have is from self teaching and experiment. I create to bring joy to others and for myself. Jewelry making has been a hobby I continuously stick with and keep close to me, even as other things in my life have come and gone.
Everything I make holds a piece of my soul. Everything I do, I do it to the best of my current ability, and I am always striving for better. Everyone who loves me and supports me is why I still create. Seeing the joy on my mom's face (my biggest supporter) when I give her earrings I make specially for her. She wears them everyday, it's the only jewelry she wears besides her wedding ring.
I love meeting people at markets and creating shared memories of joy with others. I reflect back on the last 6 years of jewelry making, and I can see that my life would be drastically different without it.
Thank you to everyone who has ever supported me in any way, through words or purchases. You are the reason why I keep doing.
